Codes and permits in Ontario
Ontario regulates plumbing under the Ontario Building Code, 2024 compendium, with plumbing permits issued as building permits by municipal building departments. Like-for-like fixture swaps are exempt; altering the plumbing system, which is what a repipe is, requires a permit.
